Add a “Create Story Video” (Image-to-Video) feature for clippings to make sharing family history easier
Hi BNA team — one improvement that would massively increase the value of clippings for users is a built-in “Create Story Video” option.
Problem
When I find a meaningful clipping (family member, local event, obituary, etc.), I often want to share it with relatives or on social platforms. A static image/PDF is harder to consume, especially for older family members, and doesn’t tell a “story”.
Suggestion
Please add a simple workflow like:
Select a clipping (or multiple clippings)
Add a title + short caption (optional)
Auto-generate a short video with pan/zoom (Ken Burns style), readable captions, and source citation (paper name + date)
Export to MP4 / share link
Why it matters
Makes archives more shareable and engaging
Helps genealogists present findings in a clear story format
Encourages users to create and share content that links back to BNA (organic growth)
Workaround I currently use (disclosure)
As a temporary workaround, I use an image-to-video tool I built to animate clippings: Image to Video
.
It would be amazing if BNA offered a native version so users don’t need external tools.
Thanks for considering — happy to provide a quick example video if helpful.
