An error occurred while saving the comment VB commentedWhile I sympathise with the difficulties there must be with digitising many old publications, there are many times when I can see no reason why the OCR text is as bad as it is. I imagine that, as with some other software, a choice is being made between speed and accuracy; too often (on the Wiltshire Times, which I have used most recently) speed has been chosen, resulting in long sections of gobbledegook. There is so much OCR text that is so bad, I don't have time to correct it - if I want to use it, I have to transcribe it from scratch. I don't do that for BNA to benefit, while paying for it!

An error occurred while saving the comment VB commentedJudging by other posts here, I am not alone in being disappointed by the poor coverage for Dorset.

An error occurred while saving the comment VB commentedSome years are now available - but not the most important period for those of us who are researching WW1 people and events!
I too have had the wrong page shown when I have searched for something specific, finding the article the search found elsewhere in the issue.
I also find edges of pages cutting off some text.
The publication I have used most recently does have quite poor print, but even allowing for that, the OCR is often terrible. So much of it is so bad, searches cannot be finding all articles of interest to me.
I want to report all these things easily and BNA to take notice that a paying customer is not 100% happy with the service. Work with us!
