    43 supporting comments from users sincle someone requested Oldham Newspapers be included in your digitisation plans back in in 2014. Not one response from this website in reply to each comment. So here's my effort to remind the British Newspaper Archive of this serious omission:
    A very large town in NW England, current population circa 244,000. Oldham was at the centre of the Cotton Industry and the Industrial Revolution, and many 19th Century political movements and events. Yet no newspaper online earlier than the Oldham Advertiser from 1986 onwards.
    The Oldham Evening Chronice was established in 1854 and remained in print until 2017. It is therefore a vital source of information over the past 163 years.
    The continued absence of scheduling this important local title is extremely disappointing, given the many obscure, low circulation, and recent publications currently being scanned and uploaded. Why is this so?
