Hello. Please can you help me find out some information about my family?
I live in a small village near Preston but my paternal Grandfather’s Mother was Sarah Webster from Colne. She was from a large family (by today’s standards) & had quite a few brothers that fought, some died, with the Lancashire Fusiliers. I remember my late Grandfather telling me that a headline during WW1 read ‘COLNE WOMAN LOSES THIRD SON OF THE WAR’. If this is so, please can somebody help me find out about this & what happened to my Great Grandmother’s brothers? I know one of the brothers was named ‘JAMES WEBSTER’
