Allows a custom dark mode interface according to user preferences
Hello BNA community,
Recently, when looking up old newspapers at night, I noticed that the bright white background makes my eyes tired very quickly — especially when reading long articles or editing OCR.
I would like to suggest that the Incredibox game website should support a custom dark mode interface (dark mode) — with options for background color, text color, and contrast — so that users can set it to their preferences, protecting their eyes when working for a long time.
Has anyone used dark mode on other sites like Kindle, Medium, or other forums? Does it improve the reading…1 vote -

Unblocked Games – The Hidden World of Play Beyond Restrictions
What Are Unblocked Games?
Unblocked Games are simple online games that bypass internet filters or firewalls set by institutions like schools, libraries, or offices. Typically, these filters block gaming websites to keep users focused or protect network resources. However, many unblocked game sites use alternate domains, encrypted connections, or platforms like Google Sites to remain accessible.
Unlike large downloadable titles, unblocked games run directly in your web browser using HTML5 or Flash (in older versions). They require no installation, no sign-up, and no powerful computer — just a web browser and an internet connection. This simplicity is one of the…

Improve Site Speed & Search Accuracy
Hello BNA team and everyone,
I regularly use the British Newspaper Archive to look up historical documents for research work. However, recently I have noticed that the page loads quite slowly, especially when filtering multiple conditions (year, region, topic). In addition, the search engine does not currently support searching by semantics or similar phrases, making it more difficult to retrieve data when users do not type the old spelling correctly.
I suggest the development team consider:
Optimizing page loading speed when using multiple filters.
Adding a “fuzzy” search feature or AI suggesting similar keywords.
These improvements will make the search…

Switch to previous and next issues when viewing search results in a newspaper issue
Usually I search for specific topics or events. Unfortunately, it is not yet possible to click on the previous or next issue, when you have opened a search result and navigating in one of the newspaper issues. The possibility to change to the previous or next issue would be very useful, as I often want to check whether there is anything about the topic in the previous or subsequent issue.

How to Search for Obituaries with Limited Information?
Hi everyone,
I'm hoping someone here might be able to offer some advice. I'm trying to locate an obituary for a distant relative who I believe passed away in the late 1950s or early 1960s, likely in the Manchester area. Unfortunately, I only have a rough estimate of the time period and a partial name — I know the surname (Thompson), and possibly the first initial (J or G).
I've tried some keyword combinations in the search bar, but I'm struggling to narrow it down without hundreds of unrelated results. Are there any tips or tricks for refining obituary searches…

Correcting transcription errors
If I copy out an article, I like to correct transcription errors so others benefit from the corrected version,
But your system if very frustrating, as fast as I can correct errors then more appear.
I usually just copy to my PC and edit there so no one else benefits from my work.
Comments are limited to 500 characters so I cannot even paste the corrected version there.
