Dear Readers
We are sourcing what we can from the Library’s holdings and have added 1940-1941, 1943-1950 in the last 24 hours.

Thank you all for your continued interest in this title, and Happy Reading!

As luck would have it, we have put in a request to look at adding the Wallasey & Wirral Chronicle – we will investigate what is available.

This title is already on microfilm and therefore not in danger. Unlike the Wallasey New or indeed The Birkenhead News or Birkenhead Advertiser which covered the activities of a much larger conurbation and have no microfilm substitute available in the British Library. Surely these titles should take priority.

Maybe it because Findmy past are mostly digitising from microfilm rather than from the original newspaper. So we get all the imperfections and often poor contrast from the old microfilm which is not of sifficient quality to allow the OCR to distinguish every word. A good opportunity lost to give us modern quality digitised repoductions and I would suggest, slightly dishonest.
