  7. The Letchworth and Baldock Citizen

    Due to the recent highly successful and widely publicised 'Herts at War' exhibition hosted in Letchworth Garden City, there has been a lot of interest in WW1 related activity in the area. Hosting The Letchworth and Baldock Citizen would mean stories connected to WW1 would be accessible to the Letchworth community.

    The early late 19c and early 20c was also the period in which Letchworth - the worlds FIRST garden city was created by the pioneer of town planning Ebeneezer Howard, This work and learnings has spread internationally ever since. Howard's and Letchworth's influence is still felt today by town…

  8. All those editions deemed "unfit" at Colindale

    I spent a long time researching at Colindale. As I went along I recorded everything I was not allowed to view as the volume in question was marked "unfit". I attach my "unfit" list with corresponding Colindale Shelf numbers (although I assume this probably won't help). While some volumes on this list are probably already on this site I would imagine most are not. Any help in getting these scanned would be very helpful.

  9. Papers that are too fragile to be handled or copied from in the BL reading room

    For instance the following three Lowestoft papers: The 1893 volumes of "Lowestoft Weekly Press and Beccles, Halesworth and Southwold Advertiser", "Lowestoft News and Observer and Eastern Times" and "Lowestoft Standard and East Suffolk Conservative Courier".

    East Dorset Herald would be nice. Microfilms are available to visitors in the Dorset History Centre but there is nothing online anywhere. There is said to be some interesting 1912 articles about the Titanic and local casualties.

    Trade magazines contain biographies & obituaries, wills, news reports & court cases, verbatim reports of what was said at trade organisation meetings (eg. on the Early Closing Bill), job, premises & product adverts, partnerships entered into & dissolved, bankruptcies etc. etc.!
