Make drop-down list of bookmarks alphabeticalWhen I try to assign an existing bookmark to a new article, the drop-down list is seemingly in random order (perhaps of date created) rather than alphabetical. This leads to endless scrolling and trying to find the right one - even if I can remember if it exists - and often the creation of similar duplicate bookmarks. Can the drop-down list be made to appear alphabetically, as it does in the side bar? 5 votes

Allow name search for names ending in 's' without it being assumed to be pluralThere needs to be some mechanism to allow names that end in 's' to be searched without it being assumed it is the plural of that word. I have been searching for 'Lunds', a place in Yorkshire, but it always includes the word 'Lund' even with quotation marks. Allowing a search for names ending in 's' would dramatically reduce the number of results and speed up a search. 3 votes

Zooming and scrollingPlease fix the zoom and scroll features! There will be many cancellations of subscriptions! As it stands now, there is no point in looking at a newspaper page if we can't zoom and move around! 68 votes

Bring back the old views! This computer generated text is rubbish. Please bring back access to the whole page of print that highlights the key words searched for. The only way I can now read the original page is to press the print button but then there is no highlighting. As a researcher I am deeply frustrated that you have made this change, 19 votes

Go directly to a particular page in a saved searchMy actress ancestor has 75 pages of results , but when I go back to the saved search, I can't go straight to where I left off before (say page 54). I have to go to page 10, then 20,and so on,up to 50, then forward 4 singly, waiting ages for each page of results to load.(Tedious).We should be able to go directly to a specific page. 14 votes

Wanting to search just in London Gazetteknowing an individual received a DFM but not the date I cannot find on the advanced search drop down box any sign of the London Gazette where they were announced. Am I missing something really obvious? 1 vote

Identifying and downloading/printing an articleWhen will we get the promised facility to download one article instead of the whole page? The Times digital archive has offered this for a long time. Screenshot is delicate and long winded as each part of a long article has to be captured separately. 27 votes

An exact search should be just that. Don't revert all capitals to lower case. When searching for a person's name,e.g. David T Fulton, the name as a whole should be searched for. The name in the search box should remain capitalised as entered. 14 votes

why can't we now move around the selected page anymore - it just either zooms in or out. REALLY useless and time consuming now.why can't we navigate around a selected newspaper page anymore? Appears we can only zoom in or out which is practically useless. 32 votes

Allow advanced search by countyIn the simple search I can select from a dropdown box to search by county, which is very useful. However, advanced search only allows a search by publication place, which is often not as useful. For example, I want to use advanced search and limit it to Northamptonshire, but this appears to be impossible. 19 votes

Search button"Save this search" button is more prominent than the "search" button. This means more searches than intended are saved. An "Unsave searches" option might help. 3 votes

I love cherry picking!!!!Yes, I love cherries and I love to cherry-pick. On the advanced search options - yes, you can select precise dates and a region etc and you can search by a particular title. But you don't get the option of cherry-picking more than one title at a time. Thus if I narrow it down to London papers I'm gonna get a lot of hits. What if I only want to look at 5 particular London titles (because, for example, they have good coverage of a particular borough or neighbourhood )....other than search all five titles one at a time....I can't! … 4 votes

Can a secondary search facility be added to allow searches only within the initial group? Can a secondary search facility be added to allow searches only within the initial group of records? Words which are almost certain to be in the article would determine the first group. Then, perhaps after filtering, secondary searches of that group can be made for possible words or phrases. 7 votes
