  12. Bournemouth area papers - nothing so far

There are a number available, so something from Bournemouth Visitors Directory, Bournemouth Times, Bournemouth Daily Echo, Bournemouth Observer would be useful - there is also no coverage of south and east Dorset area, which these would include.

Good news – The Bristol Evening News fits our inclusion criteria! We have researched the BL catalogue and it is available to us for digitisation. This title is only available to scan from the original paper (i.e. has not been previously microfilmed). Due to the British library’s move of the physical paper archive from Colindale to the custom built storage unit in Boston Spa, the paper is under embargo and we cannot digitise from paper until the new year. However, the good news is that we have the following years on our Digitisation Plan: 1932-1950.

Please be aware that until we have received the material into our studio and checked it, it is not possible to guarantee that it will be digitised.

  18. Sunderland Echo (1923-1929 and 1953-1970); Sunderland Herald; Sunderland Beacon

The Sunderland Echo is missing 1923-1929 - I'm not sure whether this is because the Echo offices once had a fire that destroyed those years (which it did) or whether it's a coincidence ... however the only available 1920s run is on microfiche at Sunderland library, and is slow work (presumably this must relate to what Colindale held?) Plugging the gap would be good, as would extending the run to 1970. There is nothing before 1874, when the Echo started, and here the Herald and Beacon would be excellent - all to complement the tremendous archive you have released.
